Example 8(a) Narratives of Social Disadvantage
If you want to apply for your 8a Certification but are not a Black American, Hispanic American, Native American or Asian American, you must submit a Narrative Statement of Social Disadvantage that properly describes, in detail, your personal experiences stemming from systemic discrimination.
This document contains narratives for a Caucasian female and a Caucasian male - both of which were approved by the SBA, only the information specific to our clients identities have been changed to protect their privacy. The samples show what type of specific details you need to provide in your Narrative Statement of Social Disadvantage to satisfy the required preponderance of evidence that the SBA requires.
